Doyma: Curaflex Sleeves

Curaflex® sleeves, whether manufactured from special fibre cement or from steel, are an important element of the proven Doyma system for pipe and cable penetrations through buildings. The sleeves are manufactured, in accordance with the numerous constructional requirements, from special fibrous cement and/or steel for the commonly encountered conditions of pressing and non-pressing water and ground moisture.

Curaflex® sleeves in special fibre cement

  • Manufactured from special high-grade, asbestos-free fibre cement.
  • The coefficient of expansion of the material corresponds to that of concrete.
  • Principal installation area of the sleeves: in structural walls, floors and ceilings.
  • The material absorbs moisture from the surrounding structure and so the formation of shrinkage cracks is eliminated.
  • By specialty grooving the outer face of the sleeves (series 3000), they become absolutely homogenous with the structure, providing a durable, watertight bond with the concrete.
  • The inside face of the sleeve provides an optimum sealing surface for the elastomer of the gasket insert which is installed in the sleeve.
  • It is non-corrodible.

Range

  • Curaflex® 3000: Sleeve with grooved outer face
  • Curaflex 3000/T: Longitudinally split sleeve for retro fitting around existing services, bonded on site using Curaflex 3000.
  • Curaflex® 3001: Sleeve with additional flange suitable for structures with thick bitumen renders in non-pressing water conditions
  • Curaflex® 4000: Sleeve with bonded cast iron fixed flange

The 4000 sleeve combines the advantages of the special fibre cement sleeve with the durability of cast iron: the fibre cement sleeve is bonded to the cast iron flange and, in conjunction with the loose flange and gaskets, guarantees the waterproofing of penetrations through buildings with tanking membranes.

Curaflex® steel sleeves

Steel sleeves are equally reliable and durable, resistant construction components for use in conjunction with Curaflex gasket inserts.

Steel grades (materials) and surface treatment

Materials

  • S235JRG2 (1.0038)
  • Stainless steel grade 304
  • Stainless steel grade 316 surface treated
  • Electro galvanised mild steel (DIN 50961), yellow chromated and sealed with a plastic coating. (Chromating approximately doubles the corrosion resistance of electro galvanised steel; sealant coating doubles the resistance yet again - a four-fold improvement over simple electro galvanised steel).
  • Stainless steel grades 304 and 316 supplied in pickled condition.

Other materials and surface treatments available on request.

Range

  • Curaflex 5000: Steel sleeve with continuously welded fixed flange. Used in conjunction with a loose flange together with gaskets, for sealing penetrations through buildings with tanking membranes against non-pressing water and ground moisture.
  • Curaflex 6000: Steel sleeve with continuously welded fixed flange. Used in conjunction with a loose flange together with gaskets, for sealing penetrations through buildings with tanking membranes against pressing water.
  • Curaflex 7000: Sealing on the face of the structure with a fixed flange. Used in conjunction with a loose flange together with gaskets, for sealing penetrations through buildings with tanking membranes against non-pressing water and ground moisture (7005) and against pressing water (7006).
  • Curaflex 8000: Sealing on the face of the structure with a fixed flange. Suitable for both pressing and non-pressing water.
  • Curaflex 9000: Steel sleeve with continuously welded puddle flange. Suitable for both non-pressing water and ground moisture and pressing water

N.B All steel sleeve types are available as manifolds with multiple sleeves let into a singular plate and set out at the specified centres to suit each construction detail.
